Many have attempted to achieve getting to the top of their goals with their online business or career but getting there takes more than you might think.

After achieving many of my own goals looking back and analyzing what it really takes can be overwhelming for some but make no mistake about it, it is a wonderful experience and the rewards of getting there are well worth it.

Here are some of what I have learned over the years:

  • Diversify Yourself – One of the things they don’t teach you in college, university or alternative educational system is diversifying yourself and being worldly in all topics, world affairs and world business affairs. Why? You can communicate and have an intelligent dialogue with the best and other top leaders in your industry. They will be surprised as to your worldly knowledge.
  • Having A Plan – Do you know what you want to achieve and how to get there ? If not, its time to develop a plan of how you will get there. Write out your goals and what specific steps you need to take to achieve them.
  • Visualize Your Goal – Visualize what your end goal is and what it will feel like, what you will do once achieving your goal. It’s not only visualizing your goal but keeping that picture in your mind every single day and visiting your goals daily. If your having a hard time understanding what I am talking about then you might want to read, ” Creative Visualization: Use the Power of Your Imagination to Create What You Want in Your Life “. This a great book which brakes down how to visualize your goals or what you want to achieve. Create a visualization board with everything you want to achieve including photos, writing or anything that will paint a clear picture in your mind.
  • Make It Happen – It’s not just writing your goals, creating a visualization board or hanging out with the boys or girls. It’s about taking action and taking each step as hard as it may be. If you don’t know how to accomplish your next step then it is time to set the pride and chips on your shoulder away. For getting to the top you must invest in Learning and educating yourself in your career, profession or tasks will be crucial to your success. Learn it and takes steps accordingly.
  • Patience – Many believe that they can achieve success simply by hanging out with the right crowd which does not hurt but remember those in the crowd are on the hunt for the same goals and it is only the ones that stand out of the crowd whom will eventually reach their goal. Also sometimes it might take longer than anticipated to reach that goal whether it be lack of preparation, lack of knowledge or whether you fit in or not. So patience is key to any goal achievement and don’t be disappointed if you don’t reach your goals today but can achieve them by tomorrow.
  • Gratitude – When getting to the top be grateful for every achievement you have accomplished for yourself and those whom have helped you get there. All your achievements will be more gratifying and well received when manifesting gratitude. It is not just saying, ” Thank You ” but feeling gratitude within and expressing it as well.
  • What Now ? – Well now you’ve achieved what you always wanted and now it is time to just sit and soak it all in…Not Exactly! Once you’ve achieved your goals it is time to share and help others who are where you once were. Don’t shun or turn your nose up at others who want to be where you are now. If you aspire to go higher in your career, business or adventure then it is time to update those goals and roll up your sleeves for the next battle ahead.

These are some of the things that it takes in getting to the top of whatever you set your mind out to do and/or accomplish. Obviously you must know your business, career or profession inside out and better to even contemplate getting anywhere to the top.

How Do You Define Intellectual Property ?

If you look at most word dictionaries or law dictionaries this is what they define it to be:

Intellectual PropertyIntellectual property (IP) is a legal term that refers to creations of the mind. But let’s break down the definition within the definition.

What does intellectual really mean ? Intellectual refers to the, ” Mind “. Right ? Property means something tangible or in this case because they are combined means Property of the Mind or Created by the Mind.

So now that we have that cleared up, What is the most powerful intellectual property you can own ?

It’s the same which created the property itself, ” Your Mind “. If nurtured correctly it is the most powerful asset you can own.

The beauty of it is that everyone is born with one and can be developed to overcome whatever obstacles or challenges  you encounter in life.

Intellectual Property

This is probably the biggest obstacle itself the misunderstood potential of the mind. It is engraved into our minds from young, poor or challenged in one way or another that you can not be or acquire what other successful entrepreneurs have achieved.

First, Erase it from your thoughts. Second, Don’t believe what anyone tells you unless you have determined it for yourself.

I hear more often than not, I can not accomplish this because or I can’t do this because I don’t have any money or whatever the excuse is…Stop Yourself from that negative mindset.

Turn off the TV, Facebook, Stop wasting money onmind control material things you don’t need and invest in Your Mind.

This is probably going to shock you. You know that term loosely used in business, education and everywhere else, ” Knowledge Is Power “.

It is commonly attributed to Sir Francis Bacon, although there is no known occurrence of this precise phrase in Bacon’s English or Latin writings. However, the expression “ipsa scientia potestas est” (‘knowledge itself is power’) occurs in Bacon’s Meditationes Sacrae (1597). That’s over 400 years ago that since this term has been used and it is not by accident.

So, Why is the mind the most powerful intellectual property you can own ? Because the knowledge unlike a tangible property, it will last you a lifetime.

If you had a tangible property it can be broken or destroyed and you can easily be out of business sought of speak. But intellectual property is in the mind and it is why successful entrepreneurs are continuously developing their intellectual property, ” Their Mind “.

It is why no matter where you are in your life or business it is detrimental that you start developing your most powerful intellectual property if you want to change your circumstances or whatever goals you want to achieve in business or in life.

It might sound a bit harsh but you need to hear it from someone who has had this experience prior to having any success in life.

There are obviously a few things that need to happen before you could even remotely start gaining any kind of traction in your life.

First, here are a few things that could be sabotaging yourself, your business and your life in general.

  1. Blaming others for your failures.
  2. Saying, I don’t have enough time.
  3. Saying, I don’t know how to do it.
  4. Watching television.
  5. Spending time doing none productive tasks.
  6. Checking emails 3 hours a day.
  7. Spending 8 hours on Facebook or any other social media platform.
  8. It’s to hard and I quit.

Blaming others for your failures – just take a good look in the mirror and ask yourself, Who is responsible for my success in life ?

Answer: You will come up with possibly two answers or more. You will say, my ex-wife is at fault, my two month baby doesn’t let me sleep, or your job is to demanding.

Or you will take responsibility for yourself and say, ME ( I Am The Architect Of My Own Life And I Will Succeed At Whatever I Want To Achieve! )

I don’t have enough time – If I could get a nickel for every time I have heard this excuse, I would be a millionaire doing nothing else.

Time management is critical to anyone who wants to succeed in life or in your business. There are only 24 hours in one day and you could never get it back once it’s gone.

So, the question you have to pose yourself is, What legacy or future will I leave my kids and/or family when I am gone ? Will it be, You never achieved anything worthwhile talking about or will they say, he was an inspiration and someone to model after.

You will be surprised at what you can accomplish if it is only 30 minutes a day. Whether it is getting rid of that extra weight causing you health problems down the line or wanting to start a new business.

Anyone who has had success in life will tell you that their success did not come over night and some cases years to achieve but they never gave up.

I don’t know how to do it – Here is a perfect excuse of why it is always easier to take the road of less resistance. Nothing in life is easy, not raising your kids, teaching a dog how to sit, going to work in your job for 40 years, building a business or whatever you do in life.

95% of people that achieved success took what they wanted to accomplish and said, How can I learn to do this and how can I get really good at it and went for it.

Watching Television: One of the biggest time stealers only second to probably Facebook as I write this.

Do you think that if you want to achieve any kind of success in life you will get the tools, how-to, knowledge, or training you need out of television ?

I hope you answered, NO! Turning off the television alone will free up at least 30 minutes to 3 hours of your time to achieve whatever you want.

Doing none productive tasks ( Checking emails 3 hours a day, Browsing on Facebook for 8 hours etc.. )

Close all the windows on your browser and only open one that has some kind of training or reading materials that motivate you to move forward in your business and in life.

It’s to hard and I quit – These are the people who spend their lives talking about success while successful people are doing it and achieving success.

The only people that fail are those who quit.

Even if you don’t succeed the first time or the second time or even a third, fourth or fifth time as long as you never quit no one can say that you are a failure.

The only way you will succeed is, helping others succeed by sharing your knowledge, sharing trade tips or sharing whatever you are good at and never worry about competition. The only competition is, Yourself!

2. Know What You’re Selling

This of course is a huge mistake. If you can’t tell me what you’re selling-and why I should buy it-in less than 10 seconds, guess what?

You’ve lost me. I’m not buying .

Now, you don’t need to convince me to buy in that short time. But you do need to grab my attention. And my interest.
Practice this. And until you can do it, don’t do anything else.

3. Know How To Sell It

You might have the greatest product or service in the world. But unless you can convince me of that, I’m not buying.
Talk to me about value. Talk to me about features and benefits. But most of all, talk to me about how your offer will solve my problem.

In the end, that’s all I really care about, anyway. From a buyer’s perspective, it’s all about me. (People always consider
themselves first. Always.) Also, people like to buy. They don’t like to be sold. So if you can clearly and effectively give them good reasons to buy from you, they will.

4. Know Who You’re Selling To

You need to know who your customers are-more correctly, your prospective customers-in order to sell to them. In fact, the more you know, the more you’ll sell. Basic data is important.

Things like age, income, education, family status-the list goes on-are all important. It really helps you to focus your efforts. More importantly, you need to understand what motivates them.

Why would they buy what you have to offer. What problems do they have? And more importantly, can your offer solve
those problems?

This is marketing 101. The more you know about who you’re selling to, the easier it will be to sell what you’re selling.

5. Understand How They Perceive You

Every business-regardless of size-has a brand. It’s your reputation. It’s what people think about you. And it has a tremendous impact on whether they’re buying from you. Or not buying.

A lot of entrepreneurs are headstrong. They say they don’t care what people think about them. In life, maybe that’s a good thing. But in business, it’s definitely not. In business, people tell you how they feel about you with money. It’s the ultimate test.

And it’s not about whether they like you or not. This isn’t a popularity contest. It’s about whether they trust you. Whether they believe you can solve their problems-or can’t.

By the way, if your market doesn’t think too highly of you, that’s a problem that needs to be fixed. Right away.

6. Make Yourself Different

Sometimes in life people don’t like to stand out from the crowd. That’s OK. They find it safer to just blend in. But it’s not OK in business. In business, you need to stand out. To be recognized. To rise above the crowd and get noticed. You need to differentiate yourself. How are you better, faster, cheaper? How are you unique? How can you do something that nobody else can do?

And don’t only be different. Tell people about it. Let everyone know how different you really are. Let everyone know that you’re the best.

7. Tell The World About Yourself

In business, blatant self-promotion is good. Especially if you work for yourself. This is what marketing is all about. It’s all about promoting your business-and yourself.

If people don’t know about you, they can’t buy from you. There’s nothing complex here. Conversely, the more people that know about you, the more you will sell.

Said another way, the more effective you are at telling the world about yourself, the more money you will make. Oh, and by the way, if you’re not comfortable doing this, you might want to go out and get a job. Because you probably won’t make too much money working for yourself.

In other words, if you want to be in business, promoting yourself comes with the territory.

8. Use Every Tool At Your Disposal

There are tons of ways to promote yourself and your business. Especially today, on the Internet. The more of these tools that you master, the more successful you will be at marketing.

The basic concepts of these tools are generally pretty simple. But mastering them-and then actually using them-isn’t quite as easy.

So know your strengths-and your weaknesses. Leverage those strengths, and hire pros to help with the weaknesses. Figure out what you can afford to do, and then go to town. Marketing a business has never been easier. It’s something you need to do.
