Number one rule with a website or blog to increase your website or blog engagement is, There should be a flow of navigation throughout the entire website so they can easily find exactly what they are searching for. Makes Sense?
I have been to many websites where either the page is not working or the content does not exist. People will probably never return to the website or blog because they feel they wasted their time visiting your site. It is something that must be monitored with a tool that gives you the entire health report of your website that pinpoints exactly where errors or other website health issues that you don’t know about. I use Serpstat.com to provide me with daily reports and activity.
If you visit a site and don’t find what you are looking for what are the chances you’ll return to this website, Right?
To increase your website or blog engagement I would also suggest you do is, Have high value content that leads them to a solution they are seeking for a problem they might have or educational information that could help them. People love educational material specially if they’ve never read about it before.
Your content should take on the roll of story telling strategy to maximize its potential reach and engagement. When you intertwine your content with a story line and body of article with education intertwined its a recipe for great engagement.
Before I figured this out I wondered myself and thought I had done enough by dressing up my website making it look more appealing to visitors and just putting any content and people would come in droves, Right? Not only should you know your market or know where they hang out but more importantly how you target them.
Who is your Avatar ? Sit down and create your Avatar for the person you are targeting. What do they do ? What is he or she searching for ? Is your Avatar a person who is unemployed and looking for a way to make an income online or are they just trying to figure out how to knit a sweater for their loved one ?
This is how you know what to say in your content and how to craft a message or Ad that speaks directly to them and giving them the benefits of how the product will solve their problem.
They don’t want to hear how pretty the product is and telling them how great your product is because this automatically will bring up red flags in their mind probably because they’ve been scammed before of it just sounds like a lot of hot air and will make them leave as quickly as they can click away from your site or your Ad.
Benefits, Social Proof and Stories Sell – Benefits will tell them exactly what your product has within that will help them or solve their problem. Sell the Sizzle not the Steak!
Stories sell because it gives them an insight as to what others were going through before they got your product and how it help them or what great results they had from the product.
Social Proof will increase your website or blog engagement, give you and your product more credibility and make you a lot of sales for you or increase subscriptions.
Be yourself and unique, Don’t copy from others but learn from them plus Search Engines will penalize your website for duplicate content. You will improve a you go along continuing to sharpen your story telling skills.
Another way of creating even better engagement with your site is by using an autoresponder like Aweber or MailMunch to create exit pop-up forms that offer a free ebook, free report/guide or free newsletter updates so people will subscribe to your list in exchange for a free gift.
This way you maximize your websites efforts to increase your website or blog engagement as well. With this list you will have the ability to email them with updates, new features, stories or products that they might be interested in.
Use social media outlets to create a BUZZ about your content and stimulate the targeted audience you are after to increase your website or blog engagement as well. Social media is a very powerful tool to implement into your marketing strategy.
If the content is targeted to the right audience and provides over the top high value that draws people in like a magnet this kind of content can sometimes become viral and continue to get targeted traffic for a few months and in some cases even years.
People love to share great stuff that could help them and in some cases their team, their family, friends or their business colleagues. So share updates or new content posted on your site.
Besides social media there are BookMarking sites you can ad your content to like Google Bookmarks and SocialAdr which helps you do it all in one place and reach a larger market because other entrepreneurs use these tools as well or searching for what exactly your writing about.
You can also increase your website or blog engagement by posting content to other places like eZine’s, Press Release Submission Sites, and/or find other related website in your niche and guest post to their blog in exchange for a link back to your website. It’s a Win, Win for you and the blog owner because he gets high quality content for his site which create more traffic and engagement with his blog as well.
Why not use FEEDS ? They are free to use and google has a popular one called, feedburner.com where I have my one of my feeds linked to so when new content is posted it will automatically ping your content and watch your stats as your feeds continue to grow and spread like wild fire.
Below is an illustration of how RSS Feeds can bring in additional traffic and engagement to your website or blog. Notice on the Feed line last month this site got 15599 hits just from Feeds only which is actually more than the daily search engine traffic recorded here. That averages to be 519.96 hits per day, not bad for free targeted traffic to your website or blog?
